How to get oil stains off ceramic headers.

Vegetable oil olive oil grease and food oils can burn and stick onto a ceramic pan if the pan is left over heat too long. Never tried it on normal oil though. All the pitstops caused fuel with oil of course to get onto the pipe and burn onto it. My expensive hooker super comps are ceramic coated and a dripping oil pan has stained them.

I used some of those brillo pads that are basically steel wool with soap embeded in it. Ceramic coated polished ceramic coated headers stainless. They don t recommend any cleaner except warm soap and water and this will not remove the stains. Try soaking the header in anti freeze.

Wipe the tubes. I tried stronger cleaners such as windex and even carb cleaner. But the brillo pads worked great. These areas are prone to rusting as most coatings are unable to get between the tubes in these areas during the coating.

This burned oil can transfer onto food items cooked inside the pan ruining your meal. Nickel chrome plated headers. Once they get oilstained you are done. Pay particular attention to the areas where the tubes are welded to the header flanges and where the tubes come in close proximity to each other.
