Before you install the cabinets use a stud finder and mark where the studs are located on your wall.
With an 18 inch backsplash the total measurement should be 54 inches from the floor to the bottom of the upper cabinets.
From the positioning line and shim the base until the top is even with the horizontal line and level from front to back.
Remember to account for the face frame.
Then drill a ledger board onto the wall which will ensure the cabinets stay level.
Measure the distance from the floor to your laser line.
Using the outline you created on the wall measure the distance from the cabinet edge to the stud and transfer this to the cabinet.
Draw a horizontal line across the wall at this 54 inch point which will serve as a guide for hanging the cabinets.
